Our Saturday tai chi study group discussions will be focused around a recommended book of the month. This month's book recommendation is Taijiquan: Through the Western Gate by Rick Barrett. This book is written for the western practitioner who wants to gain a deeper understanding of tai chi. For western practitioners, tai chi may seem like a realm they must enter through the western gate which is closed to them. Tai chi texts translated into English are hard to comprehend without the understanding of the philosophical and cultural context behind the Chinese words. This book is written for westerners by a westerner with the sole purpose of getting the western practitioner through the western gate so they can gain a deeper understanding of tai chi.
Our Saturday study groups are held from 10:15am - 11am at the Milford Panera (1627 Boston Post Rd) after our Saturday morning class. They are free and open to all who want to join the discussion.
